College Nostalgia & Rock Climbing

This last weekend was a much needed long weekend! We are thankful that U.S. history provides random holidays that break up the monotony of long work week after long work week, and to witness the wedding of a sweet and inspiring couple (congrats Emily & Tommy!), as well as see off one of our closest friends (Ginger Wilks) before his big, indefinite move to New Zealand with his equally free-spirited gf, we spent the weekend making our way slowly over to Spokane, WA.

The plan was to leave as early on Saturday to Vantage, WA. Vantage is a climbing spot we frequented much in college, being only 2 hours away from Walla Walla, WA, and having seemingly unlimited climbs for an amateur rock climber, like myself.

I always forget how acid-trip "green" everything is in Portland, OR until I got just about anywhere else. Vantage is pretty dry and desserty (that's not a word, huh?) but beautiful in its own way.

We're thankful for the awesome two-person sleeping bag that Lance got us for our wedding, as well as a double thermarest! We forgot our tent, so we slept in the back of Tyson's subaru, which, given our small statures, we fit just about perfect in.

We climbed a bit at Feathers as well as made it out the the Sunshine wall the  next morning, before heading to Spokane to see friends and congratulate the happy couple.

I couldn't fine my phone, so unfortunately there are no wedding photos, but it was a great weekend!
